This painting is an example of a new direction for my painting. Cinematic Composition is the idea. Cinematic Composition is a new way of looking at still life objects and is taken from the way a movie camera looks at things. Cut off on the sides or up close like this one “The Story.”
The oil paint is a combined with wax to make a thicker paint and applied with a palette knife forms a texture and a robust expression of paint. The wax also gives the paint a matt finish that does not have the glare ordinarily associated with oils. The color is more rich as well.
This painting is 12x12” on a panel with a cradle on the back for easy hanging without a frame.
